Salary: $100,000 - $120,000 per year + Bonus

Our client is seeking a Design Manager to lead an established tooling and mold design team and play a key role within their management group. This opportunity is ideal for a Design Supervisor, Lead Designer, Senior Mold Designer, Engineering Supervisor, or Technical Team Lead who combines strong people leadership with experience in injection mold design, technical project coordination, and continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment.
The successful candidate will help drive department performance through effective leadership, capacity planning, project scheduling, resource management, and team development while supporting the company's continued growth. Working closely with ownership and an experienced technical leadership team, this role offers the opportunity to influence department direction, improve processes, and help shape the next stage of growth for a respected tooling manufacturer.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead and support a team of designers in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
- Manage department workload, scheduling, and resource allocation
- Improve capacity planning and project visibility across the department
- Coordinate internal and outsourced design resources as required
- Monitor project timelines and support on-time delivery
- Mentor and develop team members while promoting accountability and professional growth
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and management discussions
- Work closely with ownership and other department leaders to support company objectives

- Previous leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience
- Strong communication, organizational, and people management skills
- Experience managing priorities, schedules, and workloads
- Ability to lead within a technical or manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications
- Injection mold design experience
- Tooling, mold manufacturing, or related industry experience
- Experience leading design or engineering teams
- Exposure to Gantt charts, project scheduling, or capacity planning tools
