What is the Opportunity?
The Talent Acquisition Sourcing Specialist plays a critical role in building sustainable, diverse talent pipelines to support high‑volume and mission‑critical roles within Aecon’s sectors. This role focuses on proactive, market‑driven sourcing, identifying and engaging hard‑to‑find talent through a wide range of channels including professional networks, LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, industry publications, conferences, referral programs, and targeted outreach initiatives.
Operating across the enterprise, the Sourcing Specialist partners closely with Talent Acquisition leadership, HR, and business stakeholders to understand workforce demand, anticipate future hiring needs, and deliver high‑quality candidate slates.
What You’ll Do Here:
Create and execute an external sourcing plan to build a strong talent pools and successfully identify, attract, and source/ hire qualified talent.
Take initiative to develop strong understanding of the workforce planning needs and talent roadmap of Aecon’s sector and industry segments.
Develop strong connection to Aecon’s values to appropriately promote our workplace culture, career opportunities, and benefits of working here.
Understand and deliver on critical leadership hiring needs and proactively profile quality talent.
Ensure all candidate data and information is captured and saved in ATS, and leverage collaborative sourcing/recruitment tools, including LinkedIn Recruiter and Indeed daily.
Leverage LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, and other sourcing technologies daily to identify, engage, and track candidate pipelines.
Use data and sourcing insights to inform recruiting strategies, monitor pipeline health, and support continuous improvement in hiring outcomes.
Reduce reliance on external recruitment agencies by successfully sourcing passive, external candidates and supporting talent programs that enable multiple hires.
Contribute to cost‑effective recruitment delivery while maintaining a high standard of candidate and hiring leader experience.
Build and maintain strong external talent networks, industry relationships, and strategic partnerships relevant to infrastructure talent markets.
Partner closely with HR and TA leaders to align sourcing strategies with business priorities.
Support recruiting efforts across sectors by sharing market intelligence, candidate insights, and sourcing best practices.
Provide consistent, professional engagement with candidates and internal stakeholders throughout the sourcing lifecycle.
Stay informed about industry trends, salary benchmarks, and competitor hiring practices to inform recruitment approach.
Source, shortlist, and interview candidates as required by the Sector
Compose employment agreements and lead the discussion of total compensation elements directly with candidates.
What You Bring to the Team:
5+ years of demonstrated success in sourcing hard‑to‑fill, highly specialized, senior leadership roles, within civil construction infrastructure, nuclear, engineering, or similar environments.
Deep experience sourcing talent within Canada, U.S. and across global talent markets, including engaging candidates internationally and navigating cross‑border talent pools.
Experience sourcing for roles requiring specialized skills, certifications, or security considerations.
Strong passion for talent attraction and consultative sourcing, with the ability to engage and influence passive candidates.
Ability to operate independently, build sourcing strategies from the ground up, and manage multiple pipelines simultaneously.
A strong commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, demonstrated through inclusive sourcing practices and candidate engagement.
Experience collaborating in enterprise or matrixed environments with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
Solid proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and LinkedIn Recruiter; experience with additional sourcing tools is an asset.
Bilingual in French considered an asset.

The expected pay range for this role is: $80,000 - $95,000 per year
Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions. Other considerations may include certifications, specialized training, and the complexity or scope of the role.
