Summary
We are seeking an Appraiser/Estimator to join our team at CARSTAR. Located in Canada, this role is crucial in assessing vehicle damage and determining repair costs, ensuring we uphold our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Assessing vehicle damage and creating an initial repair order estimate
- Maintaining regular contact with the appropriate insurance company to advise on vehicle repair status
- Serving as the primary point of contact for customers during and after the repair by providing information, repair updates, and a high level of service throughout the process
- Prepare detailed estimates for repairs and communicate with customers
- Collaborate with technicians to ensure accurate assessments
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and practices
- Provide excellent customer service throughout the appraisal process
- Assist in resolving any customer concerns or inquiries
- Support sales efforts by promoting additional services when appropriate
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Qualifications
- Experience with Mitchell and/or Audatex estimating software
- Knowledge of Insurance "DRP" practices/guidelines
- Proven experience as an Appraiser/Estimator or similar role in the automotive industry
- Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of automotive repairs
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
- Familiarity with dealership operations is a plus
- Sales experience is an asset with ability to upsell and handle cash transactions
- Strong organizational skills
- Proficiency in cash handling is preferred
