Aluminum Welder

HOURS: Monday - Thursday 6am - 4:30pm
JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
·Things you will do:
· Weld & fabricate steel and aluminum products for the transportation industry
· Independently use blueprints to fabricate items with various forms of weld symbols
· Fit aluminum heavy truck bumpers and accessories
· Square up & weld various geometric components
· Measure & calibrate equipment
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
EXPERIENCE:
· Must be 18 years of age or older
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- 1-3 years’ work experience in the fabrication / manufacturing industry
- Minimum C level welding ticket or equivalent work experience
- Demonstrates strong fabrication skills
- Ability to communicate both verbal & written in the English language
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions via written, verbal, or diagram form
- Strong organizational and time management skills including the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Professional demeanor and superior customer service skills
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Must be able to perform the following physical activities; standing, walking, sitting, kneeling, bending, lifting. Carrying, balancing, stooping, reaching, handling, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move 25 – 50lbs and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50lbs using lifting equipment or with team assistance
· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
· Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing shop. May be exposed to loud operating machinery and cold and hot temperatures.
· Must be able to wear a fully fitted respirator in accordance with CSA/WorkSafe BC regulatory standards

· Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English

Pay: $32.00-$35.00 per hour
