Collage Culinary is looking to hire for a client. Client has a cottage in Muskoka, and is looking for a Private Chef to join there team. July- September. We are looking for an individual who is creative, and passionate about everything food and beverage. The position demands creativity on a daily basis, excellent communication skills, and the ability to maintain the highest of culinary standards. The chef works well under pressure, is organized, flexible and is self-motivated.
We are looking for a self-starter, an independent operator, who can work on their own. There will be coaching and mentorship but once trained you will work independently, with little supervision. We are looking for someone who can get busy and have fun at the same time.
A typical day as a line cook includes:
● Being responsible for planning meals, purveying, prepping and execution.
● Overseeing the entire kitchen operation: setting up for an executing service, cleaning dishes and kitchen, running food to clients.
● Helping manage inventory and par levels throughout the kitchen
● Evaluating products to assure that quality, price and related goods are consistently met
● Ensuring high quality plates, both in taste and design, are being served
● Complying with federal and local health sanitation regulations as well as company and department sanitation policies
We’re looking for candidates who have/are:
● 3+ years of cooking experience
● The ability to effectively communicate, motivate and interact with all levels within the organization
● The ability to effectively multitask and manage multiple projects
