Duties
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression of the practice
- Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and relay messages promptly
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMRs) using platforms like Telus PS Suite, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with privacy regulations
- Assist with check-in and check-out procedures, verifying patient information and updating records as needed
- Handle administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and processing insurance claims with attention to detail
- Support clinical staff by preparing examination rooms, sterilizing equipment, and managing supply inventory
- Coordinate appointment scheduling efficiently to optimize provider availability and reduce patient wait times
Skills
- Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems such as Telus PS Suite to document patient information accurately
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology to communicate effectively within healthcare settings
- Experience as a medical Receptionist or in a medical office environment is highly desirable
- Prior medical office experience demonstrating familiarity with front desk operations and patient interactions
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multi-line phone systems confidently
- Ability to handle administrative responsibilities efficiently while maintaining a friendly, professional demeanor
- Familiarity with office equipment and software applications supporting daily operations
