The Opportunity
As we continue with our growth strategy, Rotaflow is seeking experienced CFAA Fire Alarm Technicians to join our team. The successful candidates will either be a resident in Fort McMurray, or fly-in/fly-out from either Calgary or Edmonton.
Flights are covered by the client from 2 hub cities (Calgary or Edmonton). Employee would be responsible for flights to the hub city if they do not live local to Fort McMurray, Calgary, or Edmonton.
The day-to-day responsibilities of this position may include, but not limited to:
- Perform inspections, testing, maintenance, and repairs on fire alarm systems and emergency lighting units in accordance with CAN/ULC-S536 and the Alberta Fire Code, while documenting deficiencies and corrective actions.
- Enter notifications in SAP
- Complete reports using building reports
- Participate in Rotaflow safety culture. Follow procedures and JHA’s.
- Closely work with other team members, contractors, and client
- Coordinate subcontractors and support project execution in collaboration with design and project management teams.
- Be the face of Rotaflow for our customers.
What we are looking for
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in fire alarm systems, special hazards, and addressable panel programming.
- Valid CFAA Registration (required) or Journeyman Electrician with strong fire alarm experience.
- Industrial Electrical-oil sand experience
- Versed in navigating CEC, NFPA, CAN/ILC, Alberta Building Code and Alberta Fire Code
- Read and interpret electrical diagrams, and service manuals.
- Experience working and executing maintenance in a live facility.
- WHMIS 2015, Wildlife Awareness Advanced, High Voltage Sub-Safety Orientation, ESTS or Electrical Worker Safety Awareness, 4x Altair Multi-gas Detector, Isolation & Lockouts, Permits
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Valid driver’s license with a clean abstract.
- Ability to obtain required site clearances (background check, drug & alcohol testing, references).
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing hands-on technical work.
