About Us
My Family Pet Clinic is a locally owned veterinary clinic in North Calgary, serving Harvest Hills and surrounding communities. We provide veterinary care for cats and dogs, with a focus on clear communication, practical care, and building strong relationships with our clients.
We are a small clinic with one doctor and a growing team, where every team member plays an important role in the day-to-day operations and patient care.
Position Overview
We are looking for a Registered Veterinary Technologist (RVT) who is compassionate, respectful, and enjoys working closely with both pets and people. This role involves both technical skills and client interaction, with a strong emphasis on patient comfort, clear communication, and teamwork.
New graduates are welcome to apply — training and mentorship will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians with exams, diagnostics, and treatments
- Perform laboratory procedures (bloodwork, cytology, urinalysis, fecals)
- Monitor anesthesia and assist with surgical procedures
- Take and process digital radiographs (including dental X-rays if trained)
- Administer medications and vaccines as directed
- Provide client education on preventive care (vaccines, parasite control, nutrition)
- Maintain accurate and thorough medical records
- Ensure a clean, organized, and safe clinical environment
- Support a calm, low-stress experience for patients
Qualifications
- Registered Veterinary Technologist (RVT) in Alberta (or eligible for registration)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A genuine love for animals and their wellbeing
- A people-oriented mindset with a focus on client experience
- Respectful, professional, and team-oriented attitude
- Enthusiasm for learning and growing within the role
- Comfortable using technology and learning new systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
