POSITION OVERVIEW
The Construction Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial and industrial construction projects. This role is critical in supporting pre-construction activities, securing new work, and ensuring CCR remains competitive within the Saskatchewan market.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for commercial and industrial projects.
- Review drawings, specifications, and tender documents to develop accurate pricing.
- Solicit, analyze, and level subcontractor and supplier bids.
- Identify risks, cost drivers, and value engineering opportunities.
- Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and leadership during bid and pre-construction phases.
- Maintain cost databases, historical pricing, and estimating tools.
- Participate in bid closings, post-bid reviews, and project hand-offs.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Estimating experience in commercial and/or industrial construction.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and market conditions.
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office (advanced Excel skills preferred).
- Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with the local construction market and competitors.
