About the Role
We are currently seeking a reliable and safety-focused Driver to join our headquarters team in Smithers, BC. This role is responsible for transporting crew members, equipment, supplies, and materials to various project and client locations throughout Northern BC and surrounding regions. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, capable of handling long hours on the road, and committed to safe and efficient operations in remote and demanding environments.
Key Responsibilities
· Safely operate company vehicles and trailers up to 30 ft. long.
· Transport crew members, equipment, supplies, and materials to field sites and client locations throughout Northern BC and surrounding areas.
· Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance concerns promptly.
· Secure and organize loads to ensure safe transportation of goods and equipment.
· Assist with loading and unloading materials when required.
· Maintain accurate trip logs, delivery records, and related documentation.
· Coordinate with operations and logistics teams regarding schedules and changing field requirements.
· Support urgent or time-sensitive deliveries and crew transportation to remote job sites.
· Operate safely in varying weather, road, and remote driving conditions.
· Maintain company safety standards and comply with all transportation regulations and company procedures.
What We’re Looking For
· Valid Class 5 driver’s license with heavy haul endorsement and a clean driver’s abstract.
· Valid Transportation of Dangerous Good (TDG) certification is considered at asset.
· Experience hauling trailers is required.
· Higher-class licenses are considered an asset.
· Comfortable driving long distances and working extended hours when required.
· Ability to work a flexible seasonal schedule averaging 25-40 hours per week, including occasional weekends and overnight trips.
· Strong awareness of safety procedures and defensive driving practices.
· Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
· Experience working in industrial, mining, exploration, or remote environments is considered an asset.
· Basic mechanical knowledge and familiarity with tools and equipment is an asset.
