Practicum Student – Social Work

Bay View Therapy Centre is a well-established and expanding psychotherapy practice dedicated to supporting individuals facing challenges related to anxiety, trauma, and grief. We serve children, youth, and adults using evidence-based therapeutic approaches to promote healing, resilience, and personal growth.
We are currently seeking Practicum Students to join our compassionate and professional team. This opportunity is ideal for students enrolled in Bachelor's-level & Master's-level programs in Social Work who are looking to complete clinical hours in a supportive, real-world environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual counselling sessions as part of our low-cost therapy program
- Conduct intake assessments with new clients
- Support clients and clinicians in identifying and securing community resources
- Co-facilitate therapeutic and support groups in the Barrie and Orillia communities
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of Psychotherapists and Social Workers
- Participate in regular clinical supervision sessions

Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master’s program in Social Work
- Eligible for practicum placement as part of your academic requirements
- Strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and a passion for mental health
- Previous experience working with individuals facing mental health challenges is an asset
