AI Specialist
Location: 10 Carnforth Road, Toronto with ability to work remotely
Are you interested in joining our team in this exciting and re-energized adventure providing people access to God’s Word? The Canadian Bible Society (CBS) is looking for a dedicated AI Specialist who supports the implementation, administration, and continuous improvement of artificial intelligence (AI) tools and platforms across CBS. The role will report to the IT Manager and provides technical and coordination support for Microsoft Copilot agents and related automation solutions, with responsibility for maintaining secure, reliable, and well-governed services. The position requires sound judgment, effective collaboration with business and technology stakeholders, and careful attention to privacy, security, data governance, service performance, and user enablement.
Key responsibilities:
· Coordinate the day-to-day operation and continuous improvement of AI tools and platforms, including Microsoft Copilot agents and related automation solutions, in accordance with approved standards, controls, and procedures.
· Install, configure, and maintain AI platforms and supporting infrastructure to ensure reliable, secure, and effective service delivery.
· Troubleshoot AI platform issues, integrations, and system failures, coordinating with internal teams and external vendors as needed to resolve incidents and restore service.
· Maintain user access, permissions, and security controls for AI systems in accordance with approved policies, governance requirements, and least-privilege principles.
· Develop and maintain documentation for AI configurations, operating procedures, troubleshooting steps, governance records, and key decisions to support service continuity, auditability, and knowledge transfer.
· Provide technical support, user guidance, and end-user training to strengthen effective and responsible use of AI tools across CBS.
· Assist with API integrations and automation workflows to connect AI tools with business systems and improve operational efficiency.
· Develop AI-enabled solutions to support fundraising optimization, report automation, and workflow automation using Copilot, Zapier, Power Automate, and related technologies.
· Develop and maintain AI operating procedures, usage guidelines, and controls to support safe, effective, and well-governed adoption across the organization.
· Partner with business stakeholders to identify, prioritize, and implement AI use cases that improve workflows, reporting, engagement, and decision support while aligning with organizational priorities and governance requirements.
· Configure, monitor, and optimize Microsoft Copilot agents, including prompts, knowledge sources, actions, testing, and guardrails.
· Support data readiness and governance activities for AI solutions, including data quality, classification, access controls, retention, lineage, and the governed use of Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft Purview, and related platforms.
· Monitor AI platform performance, user adoption, risks, incidents, and improvement opportunities, and provide regular analysis, updates, and recommendations to the IT Manager.
· Liaise with external partners, vendors, and internal teams to support implementation, issue resolution, change management, and service continuity.
Requirements
· Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Relevant experience in AI platforms, technology operations, business systems, automation, or a related field, with demonstrated responsibility for implementing, supporting, and improving enterprise technology solutions in a multi-stakeholder environment.
· Experience coordinating cross-functional initiatives, translating business needs into technical requirements, and managing competing priorities across multiple stakeholders.
· Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Microsoft Copilot, Power Platform, Power Automate, Zapier, Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft Purview, Azure AI services, and API integrations, with the ability to support governed solutions in an enterprise environment.
· Understanding of AI governance, privacy, security, risk management, and data governance practices, including classification, access controls, retention, lineage, and stewardship.
· Hands-on experience configuring, supporting, or administering Microsoft Copilot agents or similar AI-enabled tools, including testing, deployment, user support, and continuous improvement.
· Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to monitor service performance and recommend practical improvements.
· Strong communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
· Must live in the GTA and be able to commute to the Toronto Office as needed.
