Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Food Service Counter Attendant to join our team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, preparing and serving food, and ensuring a clean and organized work environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the food industry, strong communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting. Prior restaurant or food service experience is preferred but not required, as training will be provided. This position offers an opportunity to develop valuable skills in food handling, cashiering, and customer service.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and take their orders accurately using POS systems such as Micros POS
- Prepare and serve food items according to company standards, ensuring quality and presentation
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and basic math calculations
- Upsell menu items to enhance customer experience and increase sales
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the counter area, adhering to food safety regulations
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service
- Restock supplies and ingredients as needed to ensure smooth operations
- Assist in food preparation tasks when necessary, following proper food handling procedures
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions or concerns professionally
Experience
- No Previous experience needed, we will train you
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS is a plus
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on hospitality and serving guests
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and making change accurately
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to manage time efficiently during peak hours while maintaining attention to detail
- Experience with upselling menu items to enhance sales opportunities is advantageous

The Canmore mary's popcorn is seeking one candidate who can cover mid -shift roughly 12pm-6pm mostly on weekdays and sometime on weekend. This position would be great for a student until the end of August or early September in a short term opportunity.
