Newcom Media is seeking an Event Marketing Specialist to focus on driving registrations, maximizing attendee turnout and enhancing engagement for trade shows, conferences and webinars. The successful candidate can blend traditional marketing and digital strategies to ensure high visibility and attendance, create promotional critical paths and manage attendee communication from invitation to follow-up. The Content Solutions team is part of Newcom Media’s Creative Services department.

Key Responsibilities:
- Campaign Critical Path: Develop and execute marketing plans to promote trade shows, conferences and webinars through email, social media, digital ads, website updates, and direct marketing.
- Attendance Tracking & Engagement: Monitor registration data, implement follow-up strategies to encourage attendance, and analyze user engagement to refine tactics
- Relationship Management: Coordinate with show managers, sales and editorial teams to identify potential attendees, sponsors, and key stakeholders.
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with Newcom Media’s shared services team (Audience Development, AdOps, WebOps, Creative, and Video) to coordinate workflows and move work between teams, includes submitting job tickets through YouTrack.
- Creative & Content Development: Coordinate (and on occasion create) promotional materials including email campaigns, social media graphics, web banners, event signage, digital ads and attendee communications while ensuring brand consistency across all channels.
- Website & Email Marketing: Update and maintain event websites and landing pages with timely event, speaker, sponsor and registration information. Support email marketing initiatives including list management, scheduling, testing and deployment.
- Social Media & Digital Promotion: Coordinate and schedule social media campaigns across key platforms to increase event awareness, attendee engagement and registration conversion.
- On-Site Event Support: Provide onsite marketing support during events, including attendee engagement initiatives, sponsor activations, promotional material coordination, signage oversight and live content capture.
- Post-Event Analysis: Evaluate campaign performance and generate reports to improve future event success, including attendee insights, email performance, website analytics and registration conversion metrics.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in marketing or event planning
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for creating promotional copy and maintaining professional relationships.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office; social media platforms, scheduling tools, and analytics; Google Ads/Analytics; SEO tools and best practices to drive traffic; email marketing best practices; project management tools (e.g. YouTrack), design tools (e.g. Canva), experience updating website CMS
- Digital Marketing Knowledge: Strong understanding of email marketing, social media marketing, website content management, digital advertising and audience engagement strategies.
- Data Analysis: Ability to analyze audience demographics, campaign performance and registration trends to optimize marketing efforts.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.
- Organization & Multitasking: Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple campaigns, timelines and priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Bilingualism: Proficiency in French is a strong asset
