Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Field Mechanic to join our team, providing on-site maintenance and repair services for a variety of heavy machinery and industrial equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical knowledge, hands-on experience with heavy equipment, and the ability to troubleshoot and perform repairs in diverse environments. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in automotive repair, farm machinery, or industrial maintenance to apply their skills in a dynamic field setting.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair a wide range of heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, bucket trucks powerline equipment , pick ups , transports.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on industrial equipment to ensure optimal operation
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical issues
- Operate power tools, hand tools, and welding equipment safely and effectively during repairs
- Conduct heavy lifting and assist with assembly or disassembly of machinery as needed
- Maintain detailed service records and document repairs accurately
- Respond promptly to field service calls to minimize downtime for clients
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and company policies
Experience
- Proven mechanic experience with heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, or similar machinery
- Dealership experience is highly desirable
- Familiarity with Caterpillar equipment or other major brands preferred
- Knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical systems, and schematics beneficial
- Hands-on experience with welding, assembly, and maintenance of industrial or automotive equipment
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy lifting equipment safely
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly
- Experience working on farm machinery or other large-scale industrial equipment is a plus
Pay: $40.00-$50.00 per hour
Education:
- Secondary School (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- 421a 310t or 4 year apprentice (preferred)
