Responsibilities:
Prepare sushi, rolls, and other sushi menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards
Ensure the quality, freshness, and proper handling of fish, seafood, rice, vegetables, and all other ingredients used in sushi preparation
Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked sushi station at all times
Follow food safety, sanitation, and proper storage procedures to ensure a safe dining experience for guests
Work closely with the kitchen team to coordinate food preparation and service during busy periods
Assist with prep, portioning, and daily mise en place for sushi service
Monitor inventory and communicate supply needs to management
Maintain consistency in taste, quality, and presentation
Contribute ideas for new sushi items or seasonal features when appropriate
Qualifications:
MUST have a previous experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role
Strong knowledge of sushi preparation techniques and Asian cuisine
Confident knife skills and the ability to safely handle and prepare raw fish
Good understanding of sushi rice preparation, fish cutting, portioning, and presentation
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Strong communication and teamwork skills
