Guest Services Associate - Role Summary
Opening in Spring 2020. A new day will soon be dawning for hospitality in our nation’s capital. Wingate by Wyndham Kanata West Ottawa will cause you to rethink what you know about hotels.

What You’ll Do:
- Will monitor the front desk and hotel between the hours of 11:00pm and 7:00am.
- Welcome and acknowledge guests according to hotel standards.
- Process all guest check-ins, check-outs, room assignments, and room change/late check-out requests ensuring all have receive exceptional service and facilities that are expected by Wingate Hotels.
- Operates the front desk equipment such as the reservation system (SynXis PM), calculator, safes and key card encoding terminals.
- Responsible for the nightly audit process prior to the start of the new business day.
- Perform and understand complete accounting work as outlined by hotel operational procedures and policies.
- Act as an extension of the sales team by serving as sales coordinator.
- Coordinate with other teams to track room status and guest concerns.
- File guest paperwork or documentation ensuring guest privacy.
- Operate telephone switchboard station including answering phones, responding to questions, directions or concerns.
- Adhere and promote the Wingate 100% clean and friendly program.
- Act in accordance with hotel emergency protocols and processes in the event of an emergency, ensuring guest safety as a priority
- Show a “can-do” attitude with open professional communication with colleagues, assisting where necessary to develop team spirit and motivation.
- Be committed to understanding and achieving hotel Mission and values.
- Proactively anticipate guest needs and use the opportunity to show value added by providing information about special promotions and facilities available within the hotel/company
- May be asked to participate in the training and orientation of new team members.
- As a representative of the hotel, excellent uniform and personal presentation is required.
- Responsible for the safety culture by ensuring the security of the rooms, keys and guests.
- Other reasonable duties as assigned from time-to-time.

- Maintains safe working conditions by following safety rules and procedures and notifies management of problems where necessary.
- Ensures hotel management is informed of all unusual problems or matters of significance.

- Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with the corporate policies and procedures to achieve the overall objectives of this position.
What we are looking for:
- Completion of high-school
- 1-3 years previous experience in a customer focused environment
- Flexibility to work between the hours of 11:00pm and 7:00am.
- Hotel or hospitality experience (asset)
- Knowledge and proficiency with the SynXis PM Property Management System.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision
- A team-first attitude
- Bilingual (asset)
- Detail oriented
- Solid understanding of technology
- Passion for guest services, values and problem resolution

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $19.60-$20.60 per hour
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Kanata, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
