BQE is an award-winning water treatment company serving the global mining industry and is currently hiring for five positions on a three-month fly-in-fly-out water treatment plant operations project in Quebec, running approximately from May through August. This opportunity offers a 2-weeks-on / 2-weeks-off rotation schedule, providing excellent work-life balance throughout the summer - a $3,000 season completion bonus is also available for those who meet contracted eligibility requirements. French language skills are not required, though considered an asset. The OpportunityReporting to Plant Supervisors and Managers, Operator duties will include, but not be limited to:

Ensure that the plant and personnel operate in compliance with regulations at all levels, including health, safety and environment, and site and BQE Water policies

Ensure that the plant mechanical and process availability targets are met

Lead by example with hands on plant operation, assisting Process Engineers as required

Ensure production goals and targets are met in accordance with established budgets by operating and maintaining all aspects of the plant effectively, including:

Process control and monitoring and data collection, entry, and trending

Reagent mixing, concentrate/slurry handling & pump and instrumentation calibration

Lab duties, such as sample collecting, assaying and titrations as required

General mechanical repairs & maintenance on the plant & equipment and general housekeeping

Work shift rotations as assigned, including nights

Other duties as required by management
Requirements & Skills· Valid drivers' licence required, while water treatment certifications as asset but not mandatory· 1+ year of experience in plant operations (mandatory)· The ability to work independently, but also to collaborate comfortably and efficiency when required e.g., shift handovers· Strong mechanical aptitude – you’re used to making things work yourself.· Basic knowledge of process chemistry (i.e. coagulation, solid/liquid separation).· Self-motivated, results-oriented, take initiative to do what it takes to get things done safely.· Essential computer skills including proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook/Teams)
Compensation PackageInclude, but are not limited to:· $34-38ph (plus applicable overtime rates)· % vacation pay on all paystubs· 1-5% GRRSP matching· PPE and travel expense reimbursement
