FTC Innovation is seeking an experienced and driven Operations Manager to lead and oversee our Manitoba operations across Civil Construction, ISW (Inside Wire), Sales & Business Development, and Prefielding divisions.This is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing daily operations, production, project execution, business growth, safety compliance, workforce management, and client relations across multiple telecom and civil infrastructure projects throughout Manitoba.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all Manitoba operations related to:
- Civil construction
- HDD and excavation
- ISW / telecom installation work
- Prefielding and project preparation
- Sales and business development initiatives
- Manage operational planning, scheduling, and production targets
- Coordinate with Project Managers, clients, municipalities, and subcontractors
- Support company growth through client development and business opportunities
- Ensure all projects meet safety, quality, and production standards
- Oversee workforce planning, crew performance, and field leadership teams
- Monitor project costing, budgeting, materials, and operational efficiency
- Ensure compliance with FLHAs, COR standards, WCB requirements, and company safety policies
- Review and interpret civil drawings, telecom designs, and construction plans
- Resolve operational and field-related issues in real time
- Lead and mentor supervisors, foremen, technicians, operators, and field staff
- Support hiring, training, onboarding, and performance management initiatives
Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years experience in telecom and/or civil construction operations
- Minimum 3+ years experience in a leadership or management role
- Strong understanding of:
- Telecom civil construction
- HDD and underground utilities
- ISW operations
- Prefielding and network preparation
- Utility locates and restoration standards
- Experience managing multiple crews, departments, and project sites simultaneously
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with project coordination, scheduling, and operational reporting
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-production environment
- Valid driver’s license required (Class 1 or 3 considered an asset)

Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
