About Us
Montessori for Children St Clair Inc. is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Childhood Educator – Special Needs to join our Montessori learning community. The successful candidate will provide a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment while supporting children's individual developmental needs through Montessori principles and early childhood education best practices.
Responsibilities
- Assess children's development and prepare individualized learning plans.
- Develop and implement child-care programs that promote children's physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development.
- Observe children's progress and prepare reports for parents and supervisors.
- Guide children's behaviour using positive teaching strategies.
- Encourage creativity through art, music, dramatic play, and hands-on learning.
- Lead educational activities including storytelling, songs, crafts, and outdoor experiences.
- Prepare and maintain a safe, healthy, and organized classroom environment.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding children's progress.
- Collaborate with colleagues and participate in staff meetings.
- Supervise staff, trainees, or volunteers when required.
- Support children with diverse learning and developmental needs.
- Apply Montessori teaching methods and maintain a prepared Montessori learning environment.
Qualifications
- Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate.
- Montessori Early Childhood Teacher Certificate.
- Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Vulnerable Sector Check.
- 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in an early childhood education setting.
- Experience supporting children with special needs is an asset.
