Start a career helping people get back on the road — we’ll provide the training.
We’re looking for a dedicated and customer-focused Light Duty Operator to join our team at Astro Towing. If you enjoy working independently, solving problems on the go, and helping people during stressful situations, this could be a great fit.
About the Role
Safety, well-being, and community support are at the core of everything we do. As a Light Duty Operator, you’ll respond to roadside calls and towing requests, helping drivers when they need it most.
You’ll assess each situation and determine the safest and most effective way to provide service — whether that means towing a disabled vehicle, assisting with roadside issues, or securing vehicles for transport. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to stay calm and professional in challenging situations.
We operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and this position works rotational shifts, including a combination of days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and on-call responsibilities.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Providing towing and roadside assistance in a safe, professional, and timely manner
- Assessing roadside situations and determining the best and safest way to deliver service
- Securing and transporting vehicles using proper towing equipment and procedures
- Communicating with dispatch through our towing application to manage calls and availability
- Inspecting vehicles and equipment before service and documenting vehicle condition when required
- Delivering friendly, respectful customer service during stressful situations
- Processing service charges and collecting payments when required
- Maintaining your truck and towing equipment so it’s ready for service
- Assisting around the yard or compound when needed
What We’re Looking For
- Valid Saskatchewan Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Friendly, professional attitude with strong customer service skills
- Mechanical aptitude and interest in vehicles
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to stay calm and professional under pressure
- Comfortable using smartphone or web-based applications
- Professional appearance and strong work ethic
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
If you enjoy helping people when they need it most and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we encourage you to apply. An acceptable criminal record check is required. As a safety-sensitive position, it also requires clear pre-employment and ongoing random drug and alcohol testing (including marijuana). Visit www.astrotowing.ca to learn more about us!
