Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our Genetic Testing Department. The successful candidate will perform nucleic acid extraction, NGS-based genetic testing, and routine laboratory maintenance in support of clinical and research testing activities.
Responsibilities
· Perform sample receiving and information verification;
· Perform DNA/RNA extraction, library preparation, and next-generation sequencing according to validated laboratory protocols and SOPs;
· Maintain detailed, accurate, and traceable records in laboratory logs and information management systems;
· Conduct reagent and consumable inventory management, including ordering and organizing supplies, and preparing stock solutions;
· Perform quality control testing of reagents and carry out preventive maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment;
· Assist in the review, update and revision of SOPs and other controlled documents;
· Support troubleshooting and workflow optimization under the guidance of senior staff;
· Perform additional tasks as assigned to ensure smooth operation of the laboratory.
Requirements
- B.Sc or M.Sc degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, Genetics, Medical Laboratory Technology, or a related discipline;
- Hands-on laboratory experience with DNA/RNA extraction and molecular biology techniques;
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform assays in a reliable and reproducible manner;
- Excellent pipetting skills and familiarity with standard molecular laboratory instruments;
- Strong organizational, communication, and multi-tasking skills;
- Ability to work independently following SOPs, as well as collaboratively in a team environment;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint);
- Experience with NGS workflows (e.g., library preparation, sequencing, data QC) is a strong asset.
- Experience in a clinical or regulated testing environment (e.g., CAP, CLIA, ISO15189) is an asset.
