Job Overview
We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented baker and Cake Decorator to join our bakery team. This role involves transforming baked goods into works of art while maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. The Cake Decorator will work closely with our baking and customer service teams to ensure every cake meets our brand’s standards and customer expectations.
Duties
- Decorate cakes according to customer specifications, including piping, fondant work, and intricate designs
- Prepare cakes for display and sale, ensuring they are visually appealing and properly packaged
- Assist in the baking process by preparing ingredients and assembling cake layers as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the decorating station in compliance with food safety standards
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of orders during busy periods
- Provide excellent customer service by discussing design options and answering questions about products
- Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures and hygiene practices
Requirements
- Proven experience in cake decorating, with a strong portfolio showcasing your skills
- Previous restaurant or bakery experience is preferred, especially in food preparation and kitchen environments
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling techniques
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Skills in baking, food industry standards, and packaging of finished products
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks with precision
- Basic cooking skills and familiarity with kitchen equipment are advantageous
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada (valid work permit, permanent resident, or Canadian citizen).
- Must be available for the overnight shift starting at 1:00 AM (Bakers) or early morning shift starting at 5:00 AM (Cakers).
