JOB DESCRIPTION
The Fruit Farm Worker assists with the general care and maintenance of trees, vines, irrigation systems, trellis and fencing systems including but not limited to the following tasks:
- Pruning
- Raking
- Planting
- Tree & vine training
- Shoot thinning
- Apple thinning
- Leaf removal
- Hedge trimming
- Colour picking apples
- Picking grapes
This work involves:
- The use of a ladder, pneumatic and electric pruning shears, hand tools and small equipment operation
- Colour picking apples
- Kneeling, bending and standing for 9 hours per day
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
No specific education required. Experience in agriculture is an asset. The applicant must be capable of working in a physically demanding environment and in all weather conditions. Hours of work average 40 hours per week with fluctuations through the year. Please note this is a 24-month contract starting September 1, 2026.
