Cutting Edge Landscaping is currently seeking lead hands for our landscaping team. Ideally, you will have at least 2 plus years of landscaping experience and experience in a lead hand capacity.
Assist and advise the crew directly in the field as per the direction of Foreman. Lead and run additional supporting crews as required. Ensure workers follow all Health and Safety Requirements, policies, procedures and programs. Ensure all documentation required is completed, and submitted as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Actively work on tools and equipment when time permits.
- Assist in running day-to-day activities on site.
- Ensure schedules and timelines are being met for the project.
- Maintain quality to minimize or eliminate deficiencies.
- Report issues to and communicate with Foreman.
- Plan, and help organize, and supervise assigned work within job scope.
- Help determine work priorities and timelines with assigned crew.
- Train and Mentor operators and laborers.
- Help communicate and coordinate with other contractors if needed.
- Convey information to Foreman if issues arise.
- Help coordinate materials, equipment and/or tools for the job.
- Adhere to and follow the safety program requirements in the field, including enforcement of PPE requirements.
- Review, complete and enter Nektar required documentation, safety and otherwise.
- Communicate with Foreman about staff issues, disciplinary requirements, or Manpower issues.
- Ensure crews are taken care of, with tools and equipment needs.
- Haul, Load and Unload Equipment for sites.
- Take good care of all CE tools and equipment.
- Actively participate in accident and/or incident investigations as required.
- Conduct FLHA’s, at request of Foreman, Site Inspections, and Toolbox talks as required.
- Excellent equipment operating skills.
- Assist and correct unsafe behaviors from others on site.
- Represents CE at meetings with clients and inspectors in a professional manner.
Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of landscaping or related construction field experience.
- Must have the capacity to lift and carry 50 lbs.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Strong ability to demonstrate proper installation techniques of soil, clay, mulch-beds, plant materials, trees, hard surfaces, and sod to laborers and operators.
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
- Experienced Operator
- Valid class 5 driver’s license, clean 3-year drivers abstract and reliable transportation.
