1. About the Role
We are seeking a versatile Heavy Equipment Technician / Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our Edmonton-based team at Young Guns Concrete. This is a diverse role suited for a technician who enjoys variety; you will be responsible for the high-quality diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of our multi-asset fleet, ranging from power generation to heavy earthmoving and highway trucks.
2. Key Responsibilities
- Equipment & Truck Repair: Troubleshoot and repair engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems on heavy-duty equipment and highway trucks.
- Power Generation: Diagnose and service industrial generators, including electrical components and mechanical systems.
- Maintenance: Perform routine preventative maintenance (PMs) and comprehensive safety inspections across all asset types.
- Reporting: Maintain clear and accurate service reports and work orders.
3. Schedule & Flexibility
- Standard Hours: Typical work schedule is Monday – Friday, 8 hours per day.

4. Compensation & Benefits
- Wage Range: $40.00 – $55.00 per hour (based on experience and certification).

5. Qualifications
- Certification: Valid Alberta Journeyperson HET Certificate (Off-Road and/or Truck & Transport) or Red Seal equivalent.
- Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience working on heavy equipment, trucks, and generators.
- Licensing: Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean abstract (Class 1 or 3 is an asset).
- Physicality: Ability to work in a shop environment and lift up to 75 lbs.
