Fil-Trek Corporation is seeking a QA Inspector & NDE Coordinator to support quality assurance activities for the fabrication of ASME pressure vessels and industrial equipment. This role performs in-process and final inspections while coordinating Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) activities with qualified third-party vendors.
This is an excellent opportunity for a QA/QC professional with fabrication or pressure vessel experience looking to grow within a technically focused manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform in-process and final inspections of pressure vessels including fit-up, weld preparation, dimensional checks, and post-weld inspection.
- Review and sign off on Inspection & Test Plan (ITP) hold and witness points.
- Verify weld maps, material test reports (MTRs), and fabrication travellers for code compliance.
- Maintain material traceability throughout fabrication.
- Issue and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and track corrective actions.
- Coordinate NDE activities (RT, UT, MT, PT) with Fil-Trek’s third-party NDE vendor.
- Review NDE reports and ensure results are traceable to weld joints and vessel serial numbers.
- Coordinate Post Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT) scheduling with production and vendors.
Qualifications
- 3+ years QA/QC inspection experience in pressure vessel, piping, or heavy fabrication manufacturing.
- Working knowledge of ASME Section VIII Div. 1 and ASME Section V.
- Experience reading engineering drawings, weld maps, and inspection plans.
- Familiar with NDE methods (RT, UT, MT, PT).
- Experience using inspection tools such as calipers and weld gauges.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
Asset
- CGSB NDE certification or experience working with NDE vendors.
