JOB DETAILS
Skills & Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on trucks and transport vehicles, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems
- Troubleshoot using electronic testing equipment and hand tools to identify mechanical issues
- Inspect vehicles for safety and compliance with industry regulations and standards
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance
- Strong understanding of vehicle systems and components
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies while working in the shop and on the road
- Valid driver's license (CDL preferred) with a clean driving record
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with Mitchell 1/ Protractor considered an asset
Qualifications
- A Diploma, Journeyperson or Red Seal in either HD Equipment Tech or Truck and Trailer Mechanic OR extensive knowledge and experience in Heavy Duty Equipment Technician or Truck and Transport Mechanic
- Able to understand equipment systems to effectively and efficiently determine the necessary route for repair
- Highly motivated and self-driven
- Experienced, competent and able to repair, troubleshoot, adjust, overhaul and maintain mobile heavy duty equipment
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Willing to accept learning opportunities and to continue developing professionally and personally
