Job Summary
We are searching for an energetic, innovative assistant restaurant manager to supervise operations. Under the direction of the General Manager, the Assistant Manager is accountable for the day to day operations of the venue including staffing, cost controls, staff training, budgeting, active floor management – including during events, addressing customers' complaints and queries in a swift, courteous manner. Additionally, you will be tasked with the sales, organization, planning and management of event business.
To be successful as an assistant restaurant manager, you should implement measures to minimize costs and improve profitability. An outstanding assistant restaurant manager will contribute to the professional development of staff.
Responsibilities:
- Opening and closing the restaurant.
- Recruiting, selection, inducting, training and mentoring new staff members.
- Scheduling shifts and assigning tables to servers.
- Conducting briefings with service staff prior to each service.
- Scheduling event staff to properly service events/functions.
- Monitoring and reenforcing True Wild’s standards of service.
- Resolving customers' questions and grievances in a professional manner.
- Building and maintaining relationships with guests, team members and senior management.
- Actively working with event planners to organize, plan and execute event business.
- Follow bar, beverage and wine control procedures.
- Conducting regular inventory and troubleshooting.
- Purchasing.
- Assisting with the tracking of sales, invoicing, and managing inventory
- Participating in Health & Safety Committee, ensuring that the Occupational Health & Safety Act procedures are being followed.
- Ensure facility is well maintained, repaired and spotless at all times.
- Working with Marketing to design and implement a strategy to attract new business ie. Social Media
- Building relationships with vendors and suppliers
- Additional duties as assigned or required
Assistant Restaurant Manager Requirements:
- Previous supervisory experience within a restaurant.
- Excell and POS experience.
- Strong leadership skills with an affinity for development.
- Excellent conflict resolution abilities.
- Innovative, trustworthy, and impartial.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
