Working within a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary engineering environment, the successful candidate will be exposed to the design elements of multiple disciplines, including Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Process, and Civil Engineering, with a primary focus on structural design.
Reporting to the Structural Principal, you are highly organized and detail-oriented. Supporting structural engineers and working collaboratively with the project team, you will have experience contributing to projects in institutional, industrial, commercial, healthcare, and manufacturing facilities. The successful candidate will have experience in structural design and drawing production, with a strong understanding of the Ontario Building Code, applicable CSA standards, and construction practices.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with the development and preparation of structural contract documents, including drawings, details, and schedules
- Prepare structural designs, calculations, drawings, and details for concrete, steel, masonry, and timber systems
- Coordinate project requirements with internal team members across all disciplines as required
- Apply structural codes, standards, and design criteria to assigned project work
- Follow all REVIT/CAD standards, QA, and QC procedures during drawing planning and production
- Work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary project team
- Meet project timelines and support deliverable coordination
- Assist with structural condition assessments, site investigations, and documentation of existing conditions
- Assist with Construction Administration activities, including shop drawing reviews, Change Orders, Clarifications, and RFI responses as required
- Participate in site visits and field reviews as required
- Perform other related duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
- Proficiency with REVIT and AutoCAD is required
- Experience in the preparation, drafting, and design of structural engineering drawings using applicable standards
- Experience with concrete, steel, masonry, and timber structural systems
- Working knowledge of the Ontario Building Code and applicable CSA standards
- Experience with structural analysis and design software
- Demonstrated understanding of construction protocols and processes, with the ability to interpret drawings and specifications
- Ability to coordinate structural requirements with other engineering disciplines
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Desire for ongoing professional development and skill advancement
- Valid driver’s licence; occasional travel may be required
QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, Architectural Technology, or an equivalent program
- Minimum three (3) years of structural design experience, preferably within a consulting engineering environment

Pay: $55,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
