Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Sports Coordinator to join our club. In this role, you will be responsible for instructing adult and child judo classes, developing club policy, and assisting in program development and planning for the coming season. The ideal candidate will be experienced in both judo and teaching with an ability to do policy research.
Responsibilities
- Instruction of Judo to class groups and individuals for child, youth and adult at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels.
- Develop child, youth and adult sports curriculum for beginner, intermediate, advanced athletes.
- Develop criteria for athletic funding for board review and decision.
- Develop regular season planning, online registration preparation and judo class scheduling.
- Liaise with head instructor and report to board for program implementation.
Skills
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Strong judo technical ability
- Experience in teaching judo to adults and children
- Proficient in using technology Ex: Microsoft word and excel
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with participants and team members.
- Policy research and development
- Website design using WordPress
Job Requirements
- Meet all the eligibility requirements as set out by the Canada Summer Jobs Grant.(Look at Canada.ca Summer Job Applicant Guide for more information on eligibility)
- National Coaching Certification Program level 2 (Dojo Instructor) certified or trained
- Judo Black Belt
- First aid and CPR-C/AED
- Member in good standing with JudoBC or capable of registering
- Must submit to a Criminal Record Check
- Ability to commute to Bonsor Recreation Center in Burnaby
