Transdev Canada is hiring a Dispatcher & Office Administrator for our Yellowknife location.

Your role:
- Answer incoming calls and provide clear, accurate information to customers regarding schedules, routes, and services.
- Dispatch YATS drivers and vehicles efficiently to meet daily service requirements and maintain on-time performance.
- Prepare and maintain daily and weekly driver schedules based on operational requirements.
- Monitor driver attendance, availability, shift coverage, and daily assignments, and arrange coverage when required.
- Monitor drivers and vehicles throughout the day to ensure scheduled services are being completed as planned.
- Monitor real-time vehicle locations and communicate with drivers regarding delays, route changes, breakdowns, weather conditions, or other operational issues.
- Maintain regular communication with drivers and provide clear instructions and updates throughout their shifts.
- Coordinate with schools, school boards, the City, clients, and other partners to ensure smooth service delivery and timely communication.
- Assist with school bus routes, driver assignments, student transportation updates, and other school transportation requirements.
- Respond to service disruptions, missed trips, driver absences, and other operational issues and escalate concerns to management when required.
- Support day-to-day office administration, including emails, phone calls, filing, documentation, and maintaining accurate operational records.
- Maintain accurate records of trips, driver assignments, incidents, customer concerns, and dispatch communications.
- Assist management with tracking driver hours, attendance, overtime, and other information required for payroll and operational reporting.
- Provide coaching and guidance to drivers regarding customer service, operational expectations, safety requirements, and company procedures.
- Assist with incident and customer complaint documentation and ensure concerns are communicated to management promptly.
- Prepare operational and performance reports to support management and continuous improvement.
- Work closely with management and other team members to improve scheduling, routing, dispatch processes, and overall service efficiency.
- Follow all Transdev standards, policies, and procedures while maintaining a professional, respectful, and safety-focused workplace.
- Perform other related administrative and operational duties as assigned.
Your profile:
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in administrative support, dispatch, scheduling, or a related operational role, ideally within transportation, logistics, or customer service.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional, courteous, and customer-focused approach.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook, with the ability to quickly learn new software and dispatch systems.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation, data entry, scheduling, and record keeping.
- Proven ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
- Familiarity with Yellowknife's geography and local transportation routes is considered an asset.
- Demonstrated commitment to quality customer service, confidentiality, and professionalism.
- Previous experience working in a transportation or transit environment is considered an asset.

Your location:
- This is a full-time position based in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories.
- The operation runs seven days a week, and availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is required based on operational needs.
- The successful candidate must be flexible to work a schedule that supports daily transit operations and service requirements.
