Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist to join our paediatric mental health clinic in Port Moody. This role involves providing specialized speech therapy services to children across various developmental stages, with a focus on early intervention and improving communication skills. The ideal candidate will have a passion for pediatric patient care and possess the skills necessary to assess and treat speech, language, and related disorders.
We are a group of 21 RCC, 3 RSW and 2 OT - We are looking for someone who is keen to work as part of a multidisciplinary team. This position is to take over care of a large caseload of already existing clients.
We offer team trainings, social events, and a positive working environment with full administrative support - we do all direct billings, funding requests, bookings, scheduling and ordering supplies. This position is ideal for someone who wants to work in private practice, with a steady flow of clients, without all the administrative headache.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments for pediatric patients, utilizing appropriate evaluation tools and techniques.
- Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each child's needs, incorporating evidence-based practices.
- Deliver engaging and effective speech therapy sessions aimed at improving articulation, language comprehension, social communication, and swallowing functions.
- Collaborate with families, teachers, and healthcare professionals to support the child's communication development across environments.
- Monitor progress regularly and adjust treatment strategies accordingly to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Maintain detailed documentation of assessments, treatment sessions, and progress notes in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to coordinate care plans for pediatric patients.
- Stay current with advancements in pediatrics, physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to speech-language pathology.
Qualifications
- Valid license or certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist with specialization in pediatrics.
- Prior school experience working with children is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of speech therapy techniques, physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology related to communication disorders.
- Experience with patient assessment and early intervention strategies in pediatric populations.
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams in educational or clinical settings.

Pay: $90.00-$98.00 per hour
