Early Childhood Supervisor: Out of School Care
Qualifications
- Current First Aid & CPR Certification
- Criminal record check (with vulnerable sector check)
- Early childhood Supervisor certificate
- Class 5 Driver's License preferred
Summary of Primary Job Functions·
- Working as a member of a team, to providing quality child care experiences for the children and their parents.
- Commitment to Professional Development and sharing knowledge with the rest of the team
- To interact with the children in ways that promotes self-confidence, language skills, curiosity, and a desire to learn.
- To carry out physical routines to meet the needs of each child. These opportunities are used to enhance all aspects of the child’s development.
- To use appropriate safety and hygiene practices as outlined in Centre Policy Manual.
- To complete all necessary forms (i.e., time sheets, accident and incident records) accurately and in a timely fashion.
- To maintain records on each child and to share this information with the parents when appropriate.
- To be knowledgeable of and carry out the standards in the Day Care Regulation and Day Care Licensing Policy Manual.
- To build and maintain relationships with children and adults based on openness, genuine caring, and trust.
- To be knowledgeable and understand the safety policy and procedures and to maintain a safe environment for the children.
Working Conditions & Hours
- Split Shifts: Commonly involves working early mornings (e.g., 6:00–9:00 AM) and afternoons (e.g., 2:30–6:00 PM).
- Flexibility: Full-time hours are typically available during Professional Development (PD) days, summer, and school holidays.
- Physical Activity: Requires walking, bending, and standing, with the ability to actively participate in children's activities
