Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Technician to join our engineering and manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving mechanical systems and equipment across various projects. This role requires strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams. Bilingual proficiency in English and French is preferred, along with experience in CAD software, project management, and system design. The Mechanical Technician will play a vital role in supporting product development, system maintenance, and process optimization to ensure operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Assisting in preparing conventional and CAD-based engineering designs, drawings, and specifications
- Conducting limited mechanical tests and analyses of machines, components, and materials
- Assisting in the design of moulds, tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures for manufacturing processes
- Supporting inspection of mechanical installations and construction projects
- Participating in installation, repair, and maintenance of machinery and equipment
Requirements
- Proven experience in mechanical engineering or related fields such as manufacturing or construction inspection.
- Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by familiarity with CAD software including SolidWorks..
- Experience with PLC systems, electrical engineering concepts, system design, schematics interpretation, and maintenance procedures.
- Excellent communication skills in English; bilingual abilities in French are highly desirable.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously using tools like Microsoft Project or Microsoft Outlook.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with experience in project management or team coordination.
- Good understanding of lean manufacturing principles, product development processes, construction standards, and laboratory practices.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team; attention to detail is essential for success in this role. This position offers an engaging environment where technical expertise meets innovative problem-solving to support our ongoing growth and success in the industry.
Pay: $22.00-$32.00 per hour
