Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Generator Mechanic to join our team. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various types of generators, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical, electrical, and welding skills, with experience working on Volvo equipment or similar machinery. Responsibilities
- Diagnose and troubleshoot generator issues using schematics and technical manuals
- Perform repairs and maintenance on generators, including mechanical, electrical, and systems
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and heavy lifting techniques to complete tasks efficiently
- Interpret schematics and technical diagrams to accurately repair complex systems
- Conduct routine inspections to identify potential problems before failure occurs
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation of all repairs performed
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repairs and maintenance needs
- Assist in sales efforts by recommending appropriate solutions for generator upgrades or replacements
Qualifications
- Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in electrical and mechanical systems
- Knowledge of generator systems, including Volvo equipment preferred
- Proficiency with schematics, electrical diagrams, and technical manuals
- Experience with welding, automotive repair, and the use of hand tools and power tools
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work in physically demanding environments
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly
- Prior experience working with sales or providing product recommendations is a plus
- Relevant certifications or training in electrical work, welding, or automotive repair are advantageous

Pay: $20.00-$42.00 per hour
