AGCM is seeking an experienced Site Superintendent to lead on-site construction for an upcoming 60-unit multi-residential development in Dieppe. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for daily site leadership, coordinating all trades and suppliers, and ensuring the project is delivered safely, on schedule, and to a high standard of quality-aligned with our philosophy: \"Building the Future; Restoring the Past.\"
Site Leadership & Coordination
Manage day-to-day site operations, including supervision of subcontractors and labour.
Coordinate sequencing and workflow across all trades (framing, mechanical, electrical, etc.) to maintain steady progress.
Plan short-interval schedules (look-ahead planning) and ensure materials, equipment, and inspections are in place when needed.
Maintain site logistics, access, cleanliness, and organization.
Safety Management (COR)
Enforce AGCM's COR-certified safety program and ensure full compliance with provincial regulations.
Conduct site orientations, toolbox talks, hazard assessments, and regular safety inspections.
Identify and address unsafe conditions immediately and document corrective actions.
Schedule & Progress Control
Own the site schedule and daily production targets; flag risks early and propose practical solutions.
Work closely with the Project Manager to resolve constructability issues, RFIs, scope clarifications, and trade coordination challenges.
Track progress and report updates, delays, and resource needs clearly and consistently.
Quality & Deficiency Management
Implement quality control processes throughout construction to reduce rework and deficiencies.
Ensure work meets drawings, specifications, and code requirements.
Lead deficiency walks and close-out activities to support a smooth turnover and clean handover to the client.
Documentation & Stakeholder Communication
Maintain accurate site records (daily reports, manpower logs, deliveries, inspections, safety documents, photos).
Coordinate with consultants, inspectors, and authorities having jurisdiction as required.
Communicate professionally with trades, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to keep the site aligned.
Education/Certification: Red Seal Carpenter certification or Civil Engineering Technology diploma (or equivalent experience).
Experience: Minimum 5+ years in a supervisory role on commercial or multi-unit residential projects.
Technical Skills: Strong understanding of plans/specs, building codes, sequencing, and multi-trade coordination.
Leadership: Proven ability to manage subcontractors, enforce standards, and keep projects moving.
Communication: Bilingual (English/French) is considered a strong asset for coordination with local trades.
