What You'll Do
- Open and close the café following Guffo Cafe's operating procedures.
- Prepare handcrafted espresso drinks, teas, and specialty beverages to our quality standards.
- Prepare fresh sandwiches, light food items, and assist in the kitchen as needed.
- Deliver outstanding customer service with warmth, professionalism, and genuine hospitality.
- Create a welcoming atmosphere by engaging with every guest in a positive and friendly manner.
- Operate the POS system and process customer transactions accurately.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary café by cleaning the kitchen, customer seating area, equipment, workstations, and washrooms; performing daily cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, dishwashing, garbage and recycling removal, and end-of-day cleaning; and setting up and bringing in patio furniture as part of the opening and closing procedures.
- Restock inventory, replenish supplies, and ensure the café is ready for service.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
- Support teammates and contribute to a positive, collaborative work environment.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a barista or in a fast-paced customer service environment.
- A positive attitude and a genuine passion for customer service.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable performing physical tasks, including standing for extended periods and moving patio furniture, café supplies, and equipment as part of daily operations.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
- Passion for coffee, hospitality, and creating memorable guest experiences.
- Willingness to assist in the kitchen and support other café operations when needed.
- Availability on weekends and statutory holidays is required.
- Food Safe Certificate (or willingness to obtain one within 7 days of hire).
