Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Health Care Aides to join our team in St Albert, AB. This vital role involves providing high-quality care and support to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and home care environments. Duties
- Assist residents or clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance
- Provide patient care including monitoring vital signs and supporting medication administration under supervision
- Support meal preparation and feeding for individuals with special dietary needs
- Help with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Offer companionship and emotional support to residents or clients
- Assist with activities designed to promote independence and quality of life
- Support individuals with dementia or other cognitive impairments through specialized care techniques
- Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Assist with transfers and heavy lifting as needed, following safety protocols
Skills
- Experience in assisted living, nursing home, or home care environments preferred
- Knowledge of patient care procedures and caregiving best practices
- Ability to work effectively with seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those receiving hospice care
- Strong communication skills and compassionate demeanor
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required
- Basic skills in meal preparation and medication administration are desirable
- Attention to detail and ability to follow care plans accurately
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, including weekends or holidays if required
