Work Schedule:
· Monday to Friday.
· Hours may be 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM or 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, based on operational needs.
· Weekends may be required as needed.
Position Overview
The Store Visual Merchandiser plays an important role in creating attractive, organized, and commercially effective displays within the Supply Department. This position combines floral design, merchandising, creativity, and product knowledge to support sales, promotional activity, classes, and customer experience. The Store Visual Merchandiser is responsible for designing and maintaining fresh and faux floral arrangements, silk arrangements, tablescapes, promotional displays, and product presentations using items available in the department. This role requires the ability to work independently, follow the Manager’s vision, maintain high visual standards, and support the education team with classes, shows, and floral-related events as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Duties consistent with the position of Store Visual Merchandiser include, but are not limited to:
Floral Design and Display Creation
· Design and create fresh flower, faux flower, and silk arrangements for display or sale.
· Create visually appealing displays using items and products available in the Supply Department.
· Design and execute tablescapes, promotional displays, and arrangements for store features, promotional sites, and flyers.
· Oversee the placement of arrangements and displays to ensure visual consistency and quality.
Merchandising and Display Maintenance
· Rearrange, refresh, and tidy existing displays to maintain a clean, professional, and attractive presentation.
· Ensure displayed products are organized, well presented, and aligned with department standards.
· Monitor display product needs and communicate low stock, damaged items, or product requirements to the Supply Manager.
· Identify opportunities to improve displays and communicate ideas or concerns to the Manager.
Collaboration and Department Support
· Work with the Manager to understand and execute the visual direction for displays.
· Support the education team by helping organize and set up classes, shows, and floral demonstrations with floral instructors.
Customer Service and Professional Conduct
· Maintain approachability and professional conduct when interacting with customers and fellow staff.
· Communicate clearly and professionally with team members, management, instructors, and customers.
· Use a good command of the English language to support clear workplace communication.
Department Organization and Safety
· Keep work areas, display areas, and merchandising spaces clean, organized, and free of hazards.
· Handle floral products, display materials, and department items with care.
· Assist with set-up, clean-up, and organization before and after classes, shows, and promotional activities.
· Follow safe work practices when lifting, moving, arranging, or handling products and display materials.
Teamwork
· Work independently while also supporting team goals and department priorities.
· Be punctual, self-motivated, and able to work with a high degree of efficiency.
· Perform other related duties as assigned.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
· Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
· Ability to lift items up to and including 25 lbs.
· Ability to work in a store and department environment that may include displays, class set-ups, product movement, and customer interaction.
Qualifications
· Minimum of 3 years of floral design and merchandising experience.
· Ability to provide a portfolio of previous work.
· Ability to arrange fresh flowers, faux flowers, and silk flowers.
· Knowledge of floral products, design techniques, and display presentation.
· Creative eye for merchandising, product placement, and visual presentation.
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
· Basic computer knowledge is considered an asset.
· Strong communication skills and a good command of the English language.
· Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends when required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
