Lia Electric is a small, high‑performing electrical contractor focused on residential installations. Homeowners and partner companies hire us when they need safe, clean, code‑compliant electrical work to power “the other thing” they just bought for their home (spas, equipment, appliances, lighting, etc.). We’re a tight team, we move fast, and we care a lot about doing the job right the first time.
Role Overview
We’re looking for a licensed electrician who can run residential installs and service calls independently. You’ll be in customers’ homes daily, coordinating with homeowners and our office, and making sure every job is safe, neat, and up to code.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair residential electrical systems and devices
- Run new dedicated circuits for equipment (e.g., Spas, Appliances, EV chargers, etc.)
- Upgrade and modify panels, breakers, disconnects, and sub‑panels as required
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues in homes and provide clear solutions
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and manufacturer specifications
- Ensure all work meets current electrical code and safety standards
- Communicate clearly and professionally with homeowners and partner companies
- Complete work orders, photos, and job notes accurately (phone/tablet)
- Maintain company tools, vehicle, and jobsite cleanliness
- Follow all safety policies, PPE requirements, and lockout/tagout where applicable
Requirements
- Valid, current electrical license for Ontario (e.g., journeyperson / master)
- [5+] years of residential electrical experience (service and/or installs)
- Strong knowledge of applicable electrical codes and best practices
- Able to work independently: plan material, lay out work, and finish on schedule
- Comfortable talking with homeowners and explaining findings and options
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Able to lift 50+ lbs, work on ladders, and in attics/basements as needed
- Reliable, punctual, and willing to take ownership of results
Nice to Have
- Experience installing electrical for hot tubs, swim spas, EV chargers, or similar equipment
- Light commercial experience (small tenant improvements, service work)
- Basic technology skills (apps for dispatching, photos, job notes)
