Pembina Hills School Division provides education to approximately 3600 students in 15 community schools in north central Alberta. Pibroch Colony School is Gr. K-9, located near Westlock, AB (approximately 120 km Northwest of Edmonton)
The Position
The successful candidate must be willing to work in a community school in a collaborative school team environment and be committed to the delivery of student-centered programming with a belief that all children can learn. You must be a self-directed team player who is interested in working with children from Kindergarten to Grade 9 in a multi-grade classroom setting. Hours of work will be Monday-Friday at 6.15 hours/day, following the school calendar. Duties are to commence August 27, 2026 and will end June 25, 2027.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Experience with children with complex needs
- An understanding of early childhood development and experience and training in working with children with developmental disabilities and severe medical needs
- A clear understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a program assistant
- Able to work as a member of the school team
- Enthusiastic and motivated to help students succeed
- Experience with speech language support and behavioral issues an asset
First aid would be an asset
