T.A. Excavating Ltd. is a local Excavating & Utilities Placement company specializing in earthworks / underground utility installation of Gas, Electrical, Water and Fiber/Telecom - serving Lethbridge, Calgary and Southern Alberta, for 40 years.
We are looking for competent individuals who will contribute to our team of dedicated personnel by bringing their experience and high-quality workmanship to every project.
POSITION: CONSTRUCTION LABOURER
PROJECTS: Utility Installation – Fibre, Gas, Water, Electric, Etc
PROJECT LOCATION: Lethbridge
APPROX START DATE: Immediate
RESPONSIBILITIES
- General construction activities, heavy labour
- Inspect, clean and refuel crew vehicles
- Load and unload equipment, materials and tools from vehicles and trailers
- Collect and dispose of scrap and excess materials in accordance with our environmental policies
- Perform thorough pre-use inspections on vehicles and equipment
- Attend safety meetings and participate in hazard assessments
- Must be able to communicate effectively; verbally, written and hand signals
- Other duties as required
REQUIREMENTS
- CSTS Certificate
- Valid Driver’s License- must be able to provide driver’s abstract
- Ability to work long hours in all weather conditions
- Physically fit and able to lift heavy objects (50lbs)
- Ability to work independently with good problem-solving skills
- Must be willing to perform all construction duties assigned
- Must be willing to work overtime and weekends as project requires
- Performs pre trip inspections and daily/ongoing job task hazard assessments
- Be able to pass employment drug screening test, if required
ASSETS
- Previous work experience in areas of underground utility construction, excavating or landscaping
- Experience using F Series Digitrac Locating units
- Safety Tickets (First Aid, Ground Disturbance, etc)
