Design Sales Consultant
Cantu Vancouver Showroom
Influence the Projects That Define High-End Residential Design
This is not a transactional sales role—and it’s not driven by retail walk-in traffic.
At Cantu, our consultants operate within a design and construction ecosystem where projects originate through designers, builders, and architects. Success comes from engaging clients with insight, influencing product decisions, and earning specification on the right projects.
We’re looking for a Design Sales Consultant who can operate in that environment—someone who brings a point of view, understands how to contribute to complex projects, and can convert early engagement into secured business over time.
This is a role for someone who prefers substance over volume, and influence over transaction.
What You’ll Do
Engage the Market and Influence Specification
- Engage designers, builders, and contractors in meaningful, commercially relevant conversations
- Position Cantu early in the project lifecycle through product knowledge, technical insight, and strong communication
- Educate clients on applications, constraints, and opportunities—shaping decisions, not just responding to them
- Identify where Cantu is the right fit and ensure inclusion in appropriate projects
- Maintain consistent outbound engagement to stay connected to active and upcoming work
- Convert project exposure into secured business through disciplined follow-up and sales execution
Operate as a Value-First Consultant
- Lead conversations with a clear point of view—guiding clients toward effective solutions
- Qualify projects by understanding scope, stakeholders, timelines, and budget realities
- Balance design intent with technical feasibility to support confident decision-making
- Take ownership of moving opportunities forward, from initial engagement through to close
Manage the Full Project Lifecycle
- Prepare detailed quotes and specification packages with a high level of accuracy
- Enter and manage orders, ensuring all details are complete and aligned
- Coordinate with vendors, purchasing, and warehouse teams on timelines and delivery
- Manage follow-up, changes, and aftercare—including warranty and issue resolution
- Own the full sales process end-to-end, particularly in the early stages of the role
Work Across Showroom and Field
- Host client meetings in the showroom with structure and professionalism
- Conduct external meetings with designers, builders, and project stakeholders
- Balance in-showroom responsibilities with ongoing market engagement
What’s In It for You
- A structured path into a high-value, design-driven sales environment
- Exposure to luxury residential projects ranging from $10K to $500K+
- The opportunity to build long-term commercial impact within the design and construction community
- A collaborative, process-driven team with strong operational support
- A role that blends sales execution, technical knowledge, and project involvement
Compensation Structure
- Base salary ($70,000 - $85,000) provided during the 24 month development phase
- Transition to commission-based earnings as performance becomes consistent
- Typical earnings year 3+: ~$110K
- Top performers: $200K+
How the Role Progresses
This role is designed as a long-term development path:
- Months 0–6: Technical product training and systems learning
- Months 6–12: Early market engagement and initial project involvement
- Months 12–24: Consistent contribution to active projects and sales execution
- 24+ Months: Full commission structure aligned with established performance
This is a long-cycle environment where results build over time through consistent engagement and execution.
You’ll Thrive Here If You Are…
- A sales professional who prefers influencing complex decisions over transactional selling
- Comfortable engaging clients without relying on inbound traffic or walk-ins
- Structured and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple moving pieces
- Confident bringing insight into conversations—not just responding to requests
- Patient and consistent, with the ability to operate in longer sales cycles
- Interested in working within a design-focused, detail-driven environment
