Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Adult Education and Vocational Training, the Education Consultant is responsible for implementing the curriculum.
- Develop and share educational skills among teachers and other consultants on an individual or group basis, particularly in relation to personal development, professional development, and distance learning;
- Inform the community of any developments related to implementation of new programs and participate in the collaboration process with the Ministère de l’Éduation regarding the status of KI programs
- Organize and participate in work groups, draft memos and conduct research on the Adult Education reform
- Collaborate in the pedagogical development plan for teachers
- Collaborate with education consultants and stakeholders from other education services groups to ensure the continuity and coherence of all of Kativik Ilisarniliriniq programs
- Participate in the development and implementation of reference frameworks for programs and evaluation purposes
- Coordinate the selection and development of appropriate educational materials and activities
- Perform any other related task requested by the immediate superior.
An undergraduate degree in a relevant field.
The Board may, at its discretion, waive any or all of the afore-mentioned qualifications if it finds a suitable candidate who is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement (JBNQA) and who accepts, as a condition of employment, to follow a training plan determined by the Board.
- Fluency in English and French is essential
- Experience in developing high school and adult education programs
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, in English and French
- Knowledge of the MEES education reform and experience in its implementation
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work in a team.
- Frequent travel to Nunavik communities.
In accordance with the SPPENOM collective agreement for professionals. This position belongs to job category 2104: from $56,670 to $105,432 annually depending on qualification and experience. All benefits are prorated based on the percentage of the task.
