Oakville Parent-Child Centre is looking for an experienced and energetic Educator to provide leadership and support to the EarlyON team along with the children and families who visit our programs. You must have a high level of empathy, maturity, patience, objectivity, and the capacity to form meaningful, joyful relationships with others. The EarlyON Supervisor must also be skilled in managing internal and external relationships, an excellent communicator, and have sound decision-making skills.

Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the daily operation of EarlyON programs, provide Educator supervision and scheduling of staff for all EarlyON sites and programs.
- When necessary, participate in the delivery of the program in conjunction with other Educators, providing teaching support and educator supervision.
- Provides and oversees general administration for all EarlyON programs including; record keeping, inquiries, statistics, data and outcome measurement systems
- Provide ongoing leadership, coaching and mentorship to the Educator team to ensure programs are high-quality, responsive to the needs of children, families and communities, and aligned with current best practices in early learning and family support.
- Participates in development of program, promotional material, external communication, social media, newsletters
- Create and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of families, themselves and others, while adhering to all government regulations.
- Responsible for purchasing materials and equipment as needed within the available budget
- Contribute to the development and delivery of innovative and creative programs that meet local community needs
- ·Communicate any concerns, issues or updates regarding children, program and/or families to Manager immediately
- Provide quality programming to children following the ELECT Curriculum with emphasis on the children’s interest that promotes the overall wellbeing of children’s physical, emotional, intellectual and social development
- Understand and implement OPCC’s program statement including the four foundations of How Does Learning Happen in the program
- Provide first point of contact for families and Educators while establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with colleagues (RECEs and/or Assistants), parents, Resource Consultants, school representative (Principal) and community professionals working with children.
- Utilize a variety of teaching techniques including modeling, active listening, observing, questioning, demonstrating, supporting, and encouraging children; supporting educators with these techniques when necessary
- Create an atmosphere which builds upon individual learning styles, interests, and celebrates the cultural and ethnic diversity of the children and their families
- Maintain and ensure completion of accurate daily record keeping of attendance sheets, daily logbooks, accident and illness reports.
- Facilitate ECE student placements within EarlyON programs by coordinating placement requirements and supporting designated Educators in their mentorship role. Provide guidance with evaluation forms, monitor placement progress and completion, and liaise with colleges or universities as needed.
- Oversee the on-boarding and scheduling of new EarlyON team members, students, community visitors etc.
- Participate in Community and Special Events which support the membership and promote the work of OPCC
- Perform other duties as assigned by the manager
Qualifications and Skills:
- Early Childhood Education degree/diploma and a registered member in good standing with the College of ECE
- Minimum 2+ years' experience facilitating EarlyON or parent/caregiver & child programs.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Outlook, as well as Salesforce and other relevant digital tools and platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, additional languages are an asset
- Familiar with How Does Learning Happen?, ELECT and Think Feel Act and EarlyON Child and Family Centre Guidelines
- Ability to interact professionally with others
- Approachable, flexible and able to develop excellent relationships with children, families & colleagues
- Must have a reliable means of transportation
- Current (within 6 months), criminal reference check with vulnerable sector screening
- Valid certificate in Standard First Aid including Infant & Child CPR
Pay: $52,650.00-$58,500.00 per year
