FOR THE ACCOUNTING PRO WHO’S NOT DONE YET
We’re a small wholesale food distributor in the Derry Rd. / Hwy 10 area of Mississauga looking for an experienced accountant who still enjoys the craft. If you’re about 10 years from retirement or is bored with retirement and motivated by interesting work in a casual environment, this role might be exactly what you’re looking for. Plus you can choose your hours (part-time or full-time)!
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Prepare journal entries and keep the general ledger clean and accurate
- Support the monthly close from start to finish: accruals, reconciliations, analysis
- Compile monthly internal financial statements and management reports
- Oversee AP, AR and inventory accounting
- Process bi-weekly payroll
- Interact with vendors and customers to resolve issues
- Analyze margins, expenses, and trends
- Help build budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections
- Prepare and file GST/HST, EHT and WSIB returns
- Support year-end and work with external accountants
- Identify inefficiencies and propose solutions
- Respond to ad-hoc business questions and decision support
WHO YOU ARE
- Experience with Quickbooks
- Solid Excel skills
- Experience in an owner-managed, wholesale or distribution business
- Inventory and costing exposure
- Hands-on, practical, self-directed and comfortable in the details
