General Description: A sanitation cleaner - waste room is responsible for maintaining sanitation standards in a food‑manufacturing environment, ensuring compliance with safety and quality regulations. Other responsibilities could be included.
Schedule: Temporary Full Time, Panama Schedule - 12 hours
Responsibilities:
- Dry mops, wet mop (wash/scrub) floors. The washing/scrubbing of floors is done with manual or power scrubbing equipment.
- Transports garbage from garbage bins or compactor area.
- Cleans areas/overheads requiring ladders, scaffolding or other extension equipment to reach including Mobile elevated platforms.
- Maintains and conducts preventative maintenance procedures on floor machines, vacuums.
- Mechanical aptitude required.
- Must keep equipment clean after every use.
- Capable of lifting up to 50lbs.
- Cleaning and sanitizing food production environment
- Wear employer-specified protective gear, including two pairs of gloves, face/eye shields, aprons, boots, etc.
- Exposure to chemical cleaning solutions (with protective gear)
- Perform varying tasks while standing, lifting, crouching, etc. during extended periods of time.
- Follow all Health and Safety guidelines established by spec for this position.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- Cleaning large areas on multiple levels.
- Required to work in an environment that is hot, wet & humid.
Requirements:
- High school diploma.
- Attention to detail.
- Food industry experience and knowledge of cleaning in a food plant environment.
- Strong communications skills, both written and oral, are required.
