We are currently seeking an experienced Robot Technician / Maintenance Technician to support our automotive manufacturing customers in St. Thomas, Ontario. This position is ideal for someone with strong FANUC robot experience who also enjoys troubleshooting and maintaining automated production equipment.
Position Overview
Successful candidate will provide hands-on support for robotic automation systems and manufacturing equipment while ensuring maximum equipment uptime. This role combines robot troubleshooting, robot maintenance support, robot touch-ups, robot programming support, preventative maintenance, and production support in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment.
Candidates must be comfortable working independently while supporting production and maintenance teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair FANUC robot systems and robotic cells.
- Perform robot recovery, mastering, calibration, TCP setup, and touch-ups.
- Modify and optimize FANUC robot programs when required.
- Diagnose and resolve robot faults, communication issues, and production stoppages.
- Perform preventative maintenance on robots and automated equipment.
- Troubleshoot electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical issues on automation equipment.
- Support production during equipment failures and emergency breakdowns.
- Assist with equipment commissioning, debugging, and process improvements.
- Work with PLC programmers and controls engineers during equipment modifications.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
- Maintain robot backups and documentation.
- Complete maintenance reports and work orders accurately.
- Follow all customer safety procedures and company policies.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience working with FANUC industrial robots.
- Experience troubleshooting robotic automation systems in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience performing preventative maintenance on industrial automation equipment.
- Knowledge of FANUC robot controllers and robot recovery procedures.
- Experience with robot mastering, payload setup, tool frames, and user frames.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Familiarity with Allen-Bradley PLC systems is considered an asset.
- Experience in automotive manufacturing is highly preferred.
- Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
- FANUC HandlingTool experience.
- FANUC DCS knowledge.
- Experience supporting automotive assembly lines.
- Basic PLC troubleshooting.
- Experience with conveyors, servo systems, sensors, and industrial networking.
- FANUC robot certification is considered an asset.
Working Environment
- Automotive manufacturing environment.
- Day, afternoon, night, and weekend shifts may be required depending on production schedules.
- Overtime opportunities available.
Compensation & Benefits
- $45.00–$50.00 per hour (based on experience)

- Valid Ontario Driver's Licence.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.

Experience
- FANUC Robot Maintenance: 3+ years (required)
- Industrial Maintenance: 3+ years (required)
- Automotive Manufacturing: 2+ years (preferred)
- Electrical & Mechanical Troubleshooting: 3+ years (preferred)
