Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Production Lead Hand to oversee daily operations within our manufacturing facility, specializing in salt processing and packaging. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, machine set up, trouble shooting skills, and leadership skills to ensure efficient production, maintain production standards, and uphold industry regulations. This role offers an opportunity to lead a team in a fast-paced environment committed to quality and safety.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily production activities on the manufacturing floor, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards
- Oversee packaging processes, ensuring products meet specifications and are correctly labeled
- Operate and assist with forklift movements for material handling and storage
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment, recognize and troubleshoot areas of concern, and coordinate mechanical repairs when needed
- Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and finished products, coordinating with procurement when necessary
- Train and mentor team members on proper procedures, safety practices, and equipment operation
- Document production metrics, report issues promptly, and implement continuous improvement initiatives
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge related to machinery, able to troubleshoot and correct problems preferably with an electrical background
- Ability to operate forklifts safely and efficiently
- Basic math skills for measurements, inventory counts, and quality checks
- Excellent leadership abilities with effective communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Familiarity with safety regulations and ability to enforce compliance among team members
Pay: $22.00-$24.00 per hour
